November 2024 Release

Email Enhancement

We enhanced Posts massively, making it possible for our creators to send out post updates to their project’s followers and much more. Here is our update which went live on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024.

Posts have types

Posts solve various functions, from updating the community about a specific reward to showcasing the impact their project is having. So, we decided to surface the “post type” to both creators and contributors. The post types available are:

  • Announcement

  • Feedback request

  • Behind the scenes

  • Impact

  • Goal - new

  • Goal - update

  • Goal - reached

  • Reward - new

  • Reward - update

If you can think of more Post Types you'd like to see here, please let us know!

Link Posts to Goals and Rewards

Creators can now link Posts to Rewards and Goals. By doing so, creators can highlight a specific reward or goal to their followers.

When this link happens, the Posts can be seen from the Rewards and Goals page, as well. So users can see the progress of the Rewards or Goals by reading their associated Posts, and see the progress through time.

Send post by email

Creators can send Posts by email! This allows Posts to reach their intended audience: followers, contributors or reward buyers.

This allows creators to reach and re-engage their previous contributors as well as people who demonstrated interest in the project by following it. Note that this will only work if the Geyser user has added their email to their Geyser profile.

This bring projects contributors closer to the projects, seeing the progress that is taking place and the impact that is being made.

If users want to stop receiving Posts by emails, they can always unfollow the project or update their Notification Settings by going to their Notification Settings in Profile Settings.

All Posts have been migrated to Markdown from Rich Text Editor

Rich Text Editor (RTE) has been an endless source of pain for the dev team and for our users. Finally we can say that the pain is over. Now all Posts work with Markdown. We also migrated all Posts that were previously written in RTE into Markdown.

This also brings us closer to bringing these posts over to Nostr! ;)

Goal Pages

Posts now can be linked to Goals. So, we needed to give each Goal its own page, in order to properly display each Post within their Goal.

This means that creators can now share individual Goals they’re looking to achieve with their fans. And each Goal will showcase the Post updates related to each Goal.

The Meme

With this enhancement, creators can now re-engage their followers, and project followers feel closer to it and see the impact it’s having.
